Story

From a McDonald's
counter to this.

I'm Roman Toilolo. I'm 21, I grew up an athlete, and I've spent the last few years learning one thing in a lot of hard ways: how to make a business grow. Here's how I got here.

Roman Toilolo (Romexx)
01 — The start

A stranger, a job, and a lesson in business.

At 18 I was a college athlete just trying to make money. I was sitting in a McDonald's filling out an application when a man walked up to me. He owned a private security company, and he asked if I wanted work.

I worked with him until I was 19. He took me to Los Angeles and taught me the things school doesn't — how to communicate, how to market, how to actually talk to people about business. That was my first real education, and it stuck.

02 — Learning to sell

10+ carriers. Four months. A hard truth.

From there I got into life insurance — an independent agent selling through more than ten different companies. My first month I did three deals and made $5,000. The next three months were $10,000 months.

But I was also a full-time student and a full-time athlete, and the cold calling and telemarketing drained me mentally. So I made a call: I put it down and focused on school and sports, studying business marketing. Walking away taught me as much as the money did.

03 — The reset

Injured, broke, and researching at 2am.

Then I got injured in my sport. On top of that I had no money, so as soon as I could, I took warehouse work — any shift that was open.

I knew that wasn't where I was supposed to be. Late at night after shifts, I researched real estate strategies until I found wholesaling. I didn't have a plan B. I just refused to settle.

04 — The first close

February 4th, 2025. $61,000.

On February 4th, 2025, I closed my first wholesale deal — $61,000 in commissions, escrow closed on the 28th. That number changed what I believed was possible.

I poured it right back into marketing, ads, and my schooling, and went all in. By the end of the year I'd made over $160,000 wholesaling. I'd figured out how to generate deals — which is really just marketing under a different name.

The reward is nice. The reason I keep going is the work.

05 — The pivot

Deals are inconsistent. Skills aren't.

Wholesaling paid, but the deals were inconsistent and the industry had too much drama. I knew it wasn't what I'd do forever. What I really had was a skill: I could get anyone customers.

So I went back to my first mentor and offered to market his private security company — the one that started as word-of-mouth. We turned it into a brand that lands high-profile clients, from recording artists to national social creators. That's when it clicked: fixing growth for service businesses is the thing I'm meant to do.

Now

This is Romexx.

Today I build websites, run the ads, and set up the systems that turn service businesses into booked-out ones — security, solar, transport, construction, coaching, and more.

  • I'm not an agency. I'm the person who fixes the reason you're not growing.
  • I treat your business like it's my own — because I've had to build from zero too.
  • Straight talk, real numbers, no fluff.
“Build on yourself every single day. Not winning looks like doing nothing with the hours you're given. As long as you keep going, you win.

The rule I run my life on.
